Drive Through Nativity

On Friday night our church did their yearly drive through live nativity. At the beginning of the drive through they give you a CD with the story/message on it and you proceed to each scene. There were about four scenes. They did an incredible job!

"In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary."

"And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women"..."And, behold, though shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS."

"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem...to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child."

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night."

"And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

Photos from the week

We were on our way to Russell Springs (1 1/2 drive) on Thursday for Deanna to play at a dinner. Here we are at an Amish store helping the chef.

Bad boys and girls eating pears off the Christmas tree!

On Friday after playing at the Springfield Nursing home, Deanna had her picture taken with Santa on his 3-week-old motorcycle!

Wednesday night caroling

The church pulled us carolers on a wagon with the tractor around town as we sang. This is one of the last houses we went to and we all got off the wagon. Deanna's on the right side playing violin.

Here Deanna is with Jacob Settles from the church

After caroling we all congregated in the fellowship hall for some hot soup!

One of the greatest gifts of all

James cleaning the chalk board...now is that clean or is that clean?

Waiting for his wife...and waiting...and waiting...

Wednesday Afternoon

Yesterday we took music to a community luncheon in Mackville. Here the kids are singing Christmas carols with some of the other children there.

Deanna played the harp during lunch.

Here's our reindeer, Caren Carney. She helps to organize this event.

Here Deanna was accompanying Keith on the violin while everyone sang along.

We all enjoyed a little gift exchange afterwards...Here's one of the lady's daring to be mean.

Deanna was mean and took Mitchell Burns' chocolate.

And he got a broomstick decoration in return.

Here James is on the swing.

Live Nativity

Here are some of the Mackville lights

Mackville Christian Church did a live nativity on Saturday night in the freezing rain and weather. They did a nice job.

I'm thinking that these goats kind of resemble the wise men in most nativity sets. Look at that wise looking beard.

Yep, there's the donkey

And for the third wise man...hmmm. "Nanynanybooboo" just doesn't seem very wise. See the other two in the background trying to talk him out if it?

Lots of ornaments, lots of memories

Snapshots

Last week on Thursday evening the Kravets family stopped in to visit while traveling through KY after having just returned from Ukraine on Friday! What a pleasant surprise that was. We cherished every moment that we had with them...even though our time was short.

On Monday evening mom and I had a special evening with Mrs. Debbie and her daughter, Hannah Vanderhoeven. We had dinner by the fireplace at Panera Bread.

Here Lydia is in front of the Christmas tree!
